goshawking719 492
unless you have got a record you are pretty likley to be granted your shotgun certificate mate. unlike a firearms licence they have to prove you have no reason to hold a shotgun. take a look at this website, will tell you pretty much everything you need to know and you can download your application form of there aswell http://www.met.police.uk/firearms-enquiries/index.htm atb adam

Guest MOLLY
I was informed it is also good to have permission to shoot on, and the landowner to vouch for you...references etc. Gun cabinet already up and secure for them to inspect, makes it look like you are serious. But then again im only a girl MOLL.
Deker 3,491
Most of it has already been said but for a SGC you do not need any permissions and you do not need to be a member of any gun club. Unless you have a dodgy background or medical problems a SGC should be relatively straightforward. Specific references are asked for on the application....you do not need to supply a whole load of landowner references! For one or 2 shotguns you do not need a cabinet either but you must show ground anchor type security....frankly though forget that, because they will be expecting to see a cabinet on the home visit!
